resole your shoes

Whether you’re edging limestone, cruising singletrack, or giving your Birks a second life, resoling is one of the best ways to extend the life of footwear you already love. Below you’ll find an overview of the different types of climbing shoe constructions, rubber compounds, and sole options we offer. Not sure what’s right for your shoes? No stress—we’re always happy to help you decide.

Climbing Shoe Repairs:
Split sole vs. Half Sole

Modern climbing shoes generally fall into one of two construction types, which determines how they’re repaired.

*Important Note on La Sportiva No-Edge Shoes*

At this time, we are not repairing La Sportiva No-Edge models, including the Futura, Mantra, Mandala, and Genius. These shoes require certified brand-specific parts and processes. We’re actively working toward a future certification and partnership with La Sportiva so we can offer No-Edge repairs down the road—but for now, these models are not eligible for resoling.

Choosing the right rubber can make a big difference in performance, feel, and durability.

rubber color & Pattern Notes

Please note that color availability for rubber sole patterns may vary, though we’ll always do our best to match your preference if color is important. It is also important to be aware that not all sizes of patterns are on hand at all times in the shop. If you are dead set on a certain pattern, we are happy to accomadate but it may increase the turn around time as a special order may be necessary. It is ideal to allow for a little flexibility as the cobbler will always choose a pattern that is a great choice for your footwear.

  • Black rubber is always a solid choice and tends to be slightly more durable due to the carbon black added to the compound.

  • Colored rubber is a fun way to customize your shoes and still performs great.

  • Cobbler’s choice is typically black for personal shoes, though ice blue Zegalite is also a frequent favorite.

We’re always happy to talk through color options once we see your shoes and review available patterns.
